Pratiba Anand

Project Manager | Utility Consulting | Northeast

About Pratiba

Pratiba started her career as a transmission operation planning engineer after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Most of her career has focused on the hands-on, day-to-day transmission operations for several large utility companies in Connecticut and New York, along with traditional long-term transmission planning work. Now, as a project manager, she focuses more on strategy, primarily serving as a project manager for utilities across the Northeast. She enjoys the role, particularly because it allows her to pivot among numerous roles in any one day, from transmission planner to outage coordinator to financial specialist.

How Pratiba helps her clients
Pratiba makes sure to listen and learn from clients first. In her experience, that is the most important way she can serve her clients and really understand the challenges they are facing. Listening allows her to understand what clients want and need, while building trust. She leverages her extensive experience to offer pragmatic advice based on what she hears.

What motivates Pratiba
For Pratiba, two things motivate her: a big challenge and doing her best. She also knows that to keep doing her best, she needs to take life one day at a time — and stressful days one hour at a time.

A little about Pratiba
When she’s not working, Pratiba most enjoys spending time with her toddler daughter, taking her to fun places around their New York City neighborhood. She also loves to cook, the more extravagant the better. She doesn’t specialize in any one cuisine, instead infusing Indian flavors into any dish she is cooking, from Mexican to Italian. Fun fact: Pratiba used to perform Bollywood dance. And now, when time allows, she squeezes in some zumba and yoga.
