About Alex

As a senior project manager at 1898 & Co., Alex manages diverse teams in the information technology market, which includes data management, geographic information systems (GIS), applications development and system integrations related to project management.

Alex earned his bachelor’s degree in geographic information systems from the University of Kansas. Since joining Burns & McDonnell as a technical designer, he has worked on water and wastewater projects across the country, leading the development of geospatial procedures and standards on large infrastructure projects. Having moved to 1898 & Co. as a project manager, he brings his significant experience to support clients in the utility sector as they develop and refine their geospatial programs. In addition to his extensive experience in GIS services, Alex has experience managing diverse teams in data management and geospatial services to bring comprehensive solutions together for his clients.

Alex has almost 30 years of experience working in the GIS market. He has supported clients by leading diverse teams to implement data design and develop strategies that fully support client needs. He is driven to provide consistent results for every client by thoroughly listening to the problems at hand and finding an effective solution.

What motivates Alex
Alex is motivated by the team he is fortunate to work with every day. They are driven and motivated to exceed clients’ expectations. Being surrounded by like-minded people allows him to continue to learn and be exposed to new ideas which he can bring to every client.

A little bit about Alex
Alex emigrated from Santiago, Chile, at the age of four and now lives in Kansas with his wife and children. He enjoys spending quality time with family, attending his son’s soccer games or watching historical documentaries. He enjoys giving back to the community through his advocacy. Alex serves on the board of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Greater Kansas City. He was elected treasurer in 2020 and now serves on the group’s executive board.
