About Brian

As a director at 1898 & Co., Brian leads the geospatial information systems (GIS) team, providing technical and program services to critical infrastructure clients. From system implementation and data migration to field data collection program design, he has helped clients obtain value out of their GIS investments and improve their operations using geospatial data.

Brian attended the University of Kansas, where he studied geography with an emphasis in GIS before going on to earn his MBA from Baker University. Starting as a GIS technician and then GIS developer, he has worked for municipal utilities and governments at the city, county and federal levels. Before joining 1898 & Co., Brian worked for Esri, a global GIS software leader. At 1898 & Co., Brian helps clients in the power, water and other critical infrastructure industries implement geospatial systems and workflows to provide valuable insight, streamline operations and communicate with stakeholders.

How Brian helps his clients
Brian brings his experience as a GIS user to every client engagement, helping clients develop and implement leading geospatial programs that improve data quality and system functionality for end users. Certified in Esri Enterprise Administration and Enterprise System Design as well as the ArcGIS Utility Network, Brian has a deep understanding of GIS software and helps clients develop robust GIS programs designed to manage their critical assets.

What motivates Brian
Brian is driven by the positive impact he can have on critical infrastructure sectors and the importance they have in our daily lives. Having worked with clients and projects across many different industries, he knows the value of high-quality geospatial data and the challenges of managing a successful GIS program. Brian's end goal is to make clients successful through comprehensive GIS solutions.

A little bit about Brian
An ideal day for Brian is spent hanging out with his family, taking his kids swimming, going to sporting events, or attending a fun concert with his wife. A music fan, his bucket list includes seeing a concert at Red Rocks Amphitheater outside Denver.
