About Ravi

As a managing director at 1898 & Co., Ravi leads the Houston office, supporting utility and infrastructure clients across the region and solving their most challenging business, technology and cybersecurity needs.

Ravi attended the National Institute of Technology Karnataka in India, where he studied electrical and electronics, and then went on to earn his master’s in electric power engineering from Rensselaer Polytech Institute. After working in consulting and engineering for several large multinational conglomerate electrical equipment manufacturers and at large electric utilities in the Northwest, he joined 1898 & Co. to lead a team of project managers, engineers and analysts performing transmission and distribution planning and utility consulting projects for power clients. In his current role, Ravi manages the Houston office, bringing together industry-leading talent to successfully deliver critical client projects and value across industries.

How Ravi helps his clients
Ravi brings over two decades of experience in utility economics, transmission and distribution planning and performing complex technical studies to his work. He helps clients tackle large, complex projects and prepare for the future to enhance reliability, invest capital economically and adapt to changing policies and regulations. An experienced leader, he works across the company to bring together the optimal talent for every project and make sure his clients have the right insights and perspective to be successful.

What motivates Ravi
Ravi is motivated by his team and works to build an environment where every member on his team knows the challenges their clients are facing and can approach each project with an ownership mentality. Living in the Northeast during the 2003 blackout and most recently going through hurricanes and winter storms in Texas, he is passionate about the critical infrastructure industry and the impact it has on daily life, and works across the industry to help position clients for the future as the industry continues to evolve.

A little bit about Ravi
On days off, Ravi enjoys playing chess and soccer with his son and spending time with his family. Always looking for new things to learn, he has recently started flying school, working to earn his pilot’s license.
