About David

As a senior project manager at 1898 & Co., David provides financial management consulting for water and wastewater systems across the country. He uses both traditional and innovative approaches to craft strategies that close funding gaps, evaluate affordability, equitably adjust rates and inform key interested parties.

With a degree in finance economics from Rockhurst University and an MBA from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, David has over 30 years of experience helping municipal water and sewer utilities solve financial challenges.

How David helps his clients
David helps clients make informed decisions. His areas of specialty include performing cash flow planning, defensible cost allocation, rate design, financial capability assessments, feasibility analysis, debt issuance support, benchmarking and complex financial modeling. Throughout his career he has successfully worked across large, matrixed teams in operations, engineering, customer care and administration to build consensus and develop implementable solutions to address financial challenges.

What motivates David
David is motivated by his clients’ success. He enjoys the challenge of working closely with clients to develop actionable plans that balance the need to invest in ongoing operations and critical infrastructure improvements with concerns about affordability. Equity and affordability concerns have increased in recent years and become even more challenging due to inflation and rising interest rates. David is driven to figure out innovative approaches to help families who don't have the resources to pay for essential services.

A little bit about David
David is an avid woodworker, spending time in his shop or working around the house whenever he is able. He is also a co-captain for Christmas in October, which brings teams in 1898 & Co. together to make home improvements for members of the community.
