KANSAS CITY, Missouri — 1898 & Co., a global business and technology consultancy, part of Burns & McDonnell, an architecture, engineering and construction firm, announces it has joined the Emerson AspenTech Partner Network as an authorized partner for the distribution and implementation of the AspenTech Digital Grid Management (DGM) portfolio. As a partner network member, 1898 & Co. and Burns & McDonnell bring together deep infrastructure and asset-modernization experience with Emerson’s advanced grid-software capabilities to help utilities accelerate digital transformation, operational resilience and renewable-integration goals.

“As the electric grid undergoes rapid change, driven by increasing distributed energy resources, evolving regulatory demands and intensifying reliability and resilience requirements, utilities must move faster and with more confidence,” says Julio Acuna Nunez, Offering Director-Grid Systems at 1898 & Co. “Our partnership with Emerson positions us to deliver a complete digital-grid platform and services stack: model-driven network management, advanced analytics, automated operations and lifecycle advisory, supported by our industry experience.”

Emerson’s AspenTech Digital Grid Management suite delivers real-time capabilities for transmission, distribution and distributed energy resource (DER) orchestration, providing utilities with the option to integrate renewables, respond rapidly to disruptions and optimize asset performance across their network.

1898 & Co. and Burns & McDonnell will support utilities using the AspenTech DGM suite through the following:

  • Implementation and configuration of the AspenTech DGM solutions across planning, operations and asset-lifecycle functions
  • Consulting and systems-integration services that tie the DGM platform into broader capital-investment, asset-management and transformation programs
  • Service delivery frameworks that leverage the firm’s infrastructure and power-industry expertise to realize the full value of the DGM ecosystem

Utilities face mounting complexity: managing growing electrification, integrating intermittent generation, securing operations and controlling costs. Serving utility clients through this partnership addresses:

  • Enhanced situational awareness and operational automation help reduce outage risk and restore service more rapidly.
  • Advanced DER management and network-model integration support renewable uptake and flexible grid operation.
  • Efficiency and value. A unified digital platform enables convergence of planning, operations and maintenance workflows, driving lower total cost of ownership and improved decision-making.
