About Hari

As a business development manager at 1898 & Co., Hari leads a team of distribution planning specialists helping clients perform grid modernization and distribution planning projects, which includes performing load flow and contingency analysis, short circuit analysis, reliability studies, protection and coordination studies, hosting capacity studies, dynamic stability analysis and more.

Hari attended the Silicon Institute of Technology, where he studied electrical and electronics engineering. He began his career in technology and software development, before moving into consulting services for transmission and distribution networks for utilities and renewable energy developers in the wind and solar industries in India. Since joining 1898 & Co., Hari has led the growth of the Mumbai 1898 & Co. distribution planning business line, where he manages a team of distribution planners and analysts helping clients mostly in the U.S. with their most challenging projects.

How Hari helps his clients
As a section manager, Hari leverages his experienced team to successfully support clients in the field. Proficient in several power system software packages such as CYME, PSS/E, Synergi, WindMil, MiPower, ETAP and Python, he can complete detailed analyses of the challenges facing a client and help bring together the right solution to meet their long-term planning needs.

What motivates Hari
Hari is heavily motivated by the growth of his team in Mumbai. His team started with two people and is growing to over 20; he is committed to engaging and training the team to make them successful in the industry and throughout their work. Seeing a project successfully completed above and beyond the client’s expectations keeps him working hard and looking forward to starting a new project. Hari knows the power of asking the right questions to truly understand a client’s criteria, goals and expectations, and accurately deliver results.

A little bit about Hari
An ideal day off for Hari is spending quality time with his daughter. He enjoys cooking and has made it a routine to cook every Sunday so that his wife can take a well-deserved break, particularly when he has a chance to make dosa, his favorite South Indian dish.
