As a director at 1898 & Co., Robert provides industrial cybersecurity and physical security consulting and solutions for critical infrastructure clients.
Robert attended Baylor University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in computer science, and then went on to graduate school in geology. His most recent focus has been cybersecurity, but prior to that he worked on facility and geospatial intelligence in the areas of building information models (BIM), command and control system integrations, and cybersecurity for industrial control systems.
How Robert helps his clients
Robert serves as the industrial cybersecurity lead for the federal and transportation markets, including defense clients. With his extensive experience working on highly secure federal projects, he helps engineers incorporate cybersecurity into every design package so critical facilities are secure from day one. Since cybersecurity is constantly changing, Robert continually consults with clients to develop a road map for cybersecurity that aligns with their business needs.
What motivates Robert
Robert aims to help individuals understand that cybersecurity isn't as scary as it seems. He is motivated daily by his group’s contributions to the company’s work and success of clients. He has experience developing creative solutions to challenging problems. A lifelong student, Robert approaches each situation with an open mindset to learn and help educate others on securing their most critical systems.
A little bit about Robert
An ideal day off for Robert is traveling abroad to see new sights or staying home to do yard work. Robert can play the piano and enjoys singing. He will listen to just about anything and is known for sending out a musical selection for the day. Having grown up in South Carolina, Robert finds any opportunity to eat peach ice cream.
